Kazakhstan evacuates its citizens from Wuhan

On Feb. 2, 2020, in order to ensure the safety of the health of citizens of Kazakhstan, the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan transported 83 Kazakhstanis to their homeland, 80 of whom were students in Wuhan, China, primeminister.kz reports.

During the flight, our citizens were accompanied by Kazakhstani doctors, provided with all means of protection.

After checking the state of health, the arrivals were placed in 14-day quarantine in a specially designated anti-infection building at the multidisciplinary hospital of the capital, located 7 km from the city.

The clinic is equipped with the necessary technologies for infectious safety, modern diagnostic, treatment and resuscitation equipment, and is staffed by professional medical personnel.

In the medical institution, evacuated citizens will undergo an additional examination, first of all, testing for coronavirus infection.

During the quarantine period, only medical personnel experienced in dealing with especially dangerous infections will be in contact with the arrivals.

Relatives of the arrived citizens are notified and familiarized with the regulations of the quarantine period.

On behalf of the Head of State, humanitarian aid in the form of medical devices in the amount of 13.6 tons was delivered to China.

At the request of the authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Armenia, the evacuation of citizens of these countries from Wuhan, China was also provided.

To provide all the necessary information, the Call Center 1406 operates around the clock.

Interdepartmental Commission for the Prevention of Emergence and Spread of Coronavirus Infection in Kazakhstan urges citizens not to disseminate false information, to receive and trust information from official sources.
