"Green belt" to appear around Taraz, Kazakhstan

2 time viewed

Today, the meeting chaired by the regional Governor Askar Myrzakhmetov discussed the formation of a green belt in the territories adjacent to Taraz, city in the south of Kazakhstan.

It should become not only a place of rest for Taraz residents, but also in the future to play the role of "lungs" of the city. The head of the region stressed that the issue of providing irrigation water should be resolved first of all in the forest lands.

According to the head of the regional Department of natural resources and environmental management, a total of seven territories were selected for the placement of the green belt.

A special plan is being developed to carry out water supply and level the land on an area of 103 hectares near Taraz. The "green belt" will be formed on the territories of 72 and 23 hectares near the Taraz metallurgical plant and the Zhambyl GYPSUM plant, along the Taraz-Asa road.

This will minimise plant emissions in the region as there are several industries working in suburbs of Taraz.
