Eagle hunters contest starts in East Kazakhstan

National eagle hunters 'berkutchi' contest dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev started in the village of Karaul of the Abai district, East Kazakhstan.

Berkutchi competition lasts for two days. Today, Golden eagles are assessed by three categories. 

According to the organizers, more than 50 birds from 13 regions and two cities of the country participate in the contest.

Akim of Abai district Jarkynbek Baisabyrov congratulated contestants and wished them luck.
