Kazakhstan to carry out national population census in 2020

According to the Chairman of the Committee on statistics N. Adamkulova, national census conventionally consists of two phases.

The preparatory stage is from 1 to 30 June during which the interviewers will  clarify the addresses of residential and non-residential premises and buildings, as well as the actual number of people living in them.

The main stage will take place from 1 to 30 October. The first 15 days of it is an online survey where respondents will be able to fill out questionnaires on themselves and their family members on website.

Simultaneously, from 1 to 30 October, a continuous survey of the population will be conducted to collect information by interviewers, with the registration of responses in tablets, allowing the interviewer to conduct a survey. Respondents who submit information via the Internet are not subject to interview.

8,211 million tenge is provided for the preparation and conduct of the national population census of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 2018 to 2022.

During the census period, it is planned to employ 32.5 thousand temporary personnel (instructors, supervisors, interviewers).
