The 56th Munich Security Conference (MSC) is scheduled to kick off in the southern German city of Munich today. The Munich Security Conference is the world's leading forum for debate on international security policy. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also arrived in Munich with a two-day working visit during which he attends the conference.

During the visit, President Tokayev will take part in a panel discussion at the conference. He also plans to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders, heads of international organizations, major German companies, as well as authoritative experts in the field of international relations.

The Head of state will speak about "Significance of geographical location: a story about Central Asia" at the discussions on regional security issues tomorrow.

It is the first time when Tokayev attends the meeting as head of state. Previously, he presented Kazakhstan as the speaker of the Senate in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

During its main conference, the MSC assembles more than 450 senior decision-makers as well as thought leaders from around the world, including heads of state, ministers, leading personalities of international and non-governmental organizations, high-ranking representatives from business, the media, academia, and civil society to debate pressing issues of international security policy.

The 56th Munich Security Conference will take place at Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich from February 14 to 16. For these days, Munich will again be at the center of international diplomacy and welcome world leaders from politics, academia, and civil society.
