Dhaka to mark 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi

On the sidelines of the 2nd session of the expert group on reforming the OIC, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the OIC, Ambassador Berik Aryn met with the Vice-rector of the Islamic technological University, Dr. Omar Jah. The University is a subsidiary body of the OIC and is located in the capital of Bangladesh, MFA reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed substantive and organizational issues for holding a scientific and practical conference on the 1150th anniversary of the great scientist and thinker Abu Nasr al-Farabi on the site of this educational institution this year.

It is expected that this important event will be attended by international experts, historians, Orientalists and other representatives of the OIC member countries who will present their research on the outstanding role of the great scientist.

It should be noted that at the initiative of the Kazakh side, at the 43rd session of the Islamic Commission on economic, cultural and social issues of the OIC, held in early February this year in Jeddah, the participants approved a separate draft resolution on the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi within the framework of the OIC.
