No Kazakh citizens among quarantined in Tenerife - MFA

According to preliminary information, there are no Kazakh citizens among the quarantined guests of the hotel in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.

"According to the health service of the Canary Islands, two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in this hotel. Carriers of the infection are two Italian citizens who were vacationing in this hotel. In this regard, the local authorities decided to introduce a quarantine regime in the hotel," Aybek Smadiyarov the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said at a briefing.

He also added that according to the Director of the health service of the Canary Islands, there are no Kazakh citizens among the vacationers in this hotel.

"Nevertheless, our Consul sent a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain. As soon as we get an official response, we'll let you know. To date, more than 10 cases have been reported in Spain. In the consular service, 65 citizens of Kazakhstan are registered permanently and 307 are registered temporarily, " Aibek Smadiyarov concluded.
