Processing crop and livestock products: Food for 1.6 trillion tenge produced in 2019

The state provides support to the development of the agricultural sector in order to increase production volumes, increase productivity and the quality of manufactured products, load production capacities of agricultural processing enterprises and provide them with domestic raw materials, primeminister.kz reports.

In 2019, food products in monetary terms totaled 1.6 trillion tenge, which amounted to 99.7% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Compared to 2018, last year there was an increase in the volume of production of vegetable oil, flour confectionery and pasta.

At the same time, the volumes of production of flour, canned fruits and vegetables and juices, cereals and sugar confectionery, sugar were reduced.

At the end of 2019, in the field of meat and milk processing, production growth was 108.1% and 101.4%, respectively, which shows good growth rates. The production of meat and dairy products reached 563.5 billion tenge.

It should also be noted that more than 60% of farms engaged in crop production are not involved in the livestock sector.

In only 5 regions, more than 270 farms with a total area of ​​3.9 million hectares of arable land do not have livestock and do not provide year-round employment. In this regard, it is necessary to diversify such farms through lending and subsidizing tools to engage in livestock breeding.
