Kazakhstan declares state of emergency over coronavirus

Kazakh President declared state of emergency due to coronavirus outbreak in the country. The state of emergency introduces 'limits on entry and exit from the country, functioning of large retail and shopping centers', also cancelling public events.   

Kazakhstan which currently has 8 cases of  coronavirus will indroduce new measures starting Monday for one month, according to the President's decree published on the official website.

It restricts entry to and departure from Kazakhstan for everyone except diplomats and those invited by the government or Kazakh citizens returing from abroad.

All entertainment centers, including cinemas theatres and exhibits would also be closed.

The decree also unlocked funds from a government reserve to provide for the state of emergency, and tasked the government with "increasing control" over people who may be dodging quarantine or medical treatment.

The state of emergency will last until April 15. A state commission including government authorities is created in the country to ensure the state of emergency.
