During the meeting, the First President of Kazakhstan stressed that thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to reduce the rate of spread of coronavirus infection. This is reported by the press service of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.

"I want to note the well-coordinated work of health care workers. In difficult conditions, law enforcement agencies also show their effectiveness. The Government and local executive bodies are actively working," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Elbasy noted the importance of high-quality implementation of the President's instructions.

Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on the need to ensure economic security in the current situation.

"The economic situation in the world is difficult. But our country's performance in the first quarter is not bad. However, it should be noted that the consequences of the quarantine have not yet fully affected the country's economic indicators. The issues of supporting SMEs and providing food to the population remain important. Now we need to think about what we will do in the post-crisis period. The economy will decline, and most likely the consequences will be more severe than after the 2008 crisis," Elbasy said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the timely allocation of 10 billion dollars from the National Fund and the Government's reserve to support the domestic economy.

In turn, the Prime Minister informed the First President of Kazakhstan about the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the country and ensure socio-economic stability.

At the end of the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the relevance of implementing programs aimed at developing non-resource sectors of the economy.
