COVID-19: Infected women give birth to 11 healthy children

Today, the head of the public health department Saule Kisikova told about the current situation in Kazakh capital with coronavirus infection, the official website of the Nur-Sultan akimat reports.

"Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Nur-Sultan, 2,520 people have been infected, 1,621 people, or 64%, have been cured and discharged from clinics. Mothers infected with COVID-19 gave birth to 11 healthy newborns," S. Kisikova said.

She recalled that since June 3, according to the decree of the chief sanitary doctor of Kazakhstan, the tactics of conducting medical surveillance with the division into symptomatic and asymptomatic patients have been changed.

"More attention should be paid to patients with symptoms in order to avoid complications and organize timely medical care. People with an asymptomatic course of the disease do not remain without attention. They are observed in conditions of home quarantine by territorial polyclinics, provided with pulse oximeters to measure the level of blood oxygen saturation, daily calls are made," Kisikova said.

Currently, there is an increase in the number of people who have laboratory confirmed coronavirus in Nur-Sultan.

"This is due to the fact that there are currently seven laboratories in the city where PCR diagnostics is performed. Every day, from 4 to 5 thousand tests are performed. And, accordingly, the detection rate is growing. I would like to note that from 60 to 70% of the people who have been diagnosed with CVI are asymptomatic," Saule Kisikova continued.

The head of the capital's health department also recalled that the city's mayor's office conducts daily monitoring of objects whose activities have been resumed, and explanatory work is carried out with business entities and their managers. The activities of such enterprises are suspended for violation of the requirements. In addition, S. Kisikova again called on the residents of the capital to strictly observe quarantine measures.
