B. Sagintayev: By the end of 2020 all remote settlements should be connected to broadband Internet

Today, at the Government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the issues of digitalization of the education sphere were considered, reports primeminister.kz.

After hearing reports by the Minister of Education and Science, Y. Sagadiyev, Minister of Information and Communications, D. Abayev, as well as a number of akims of the regions, Bakytzhan Sagintayev gave a number of specific instructions on the implementation of the tasks.

The Head of State in the Address gave the task to the Government on further development of digital educational resources. Within the framework of the Digital Kazakhstan program, measures aimed at improving the educational process through the use of digital technologies have been defined. This is especially important for remote rural areas.

"There are certain results of the work being done. For the transition to digital technologies, the Ministry of Education and Science needs to ensure the integration of information systems with government agencies in 2018," the Prime Minister said.

Akims of the regions are instructed to take on personal control the issues of technical equipment of schools and their connection to broadband Internet, Wi-Fi system.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that by the end of 2020 all remote settlements should be fully connected to broadband Internet. In general, the Ministry of Education and Science together with akims need to continue work on digitalization and ensure the achievement of all targets.

The control was entrusted to Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, A. Zhumagaliyev.
