With the controversy surrounding the first fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin a year ago, choosing officials for the rematch on September 15 was always going to be a bit more of a process than normal.

Today, the Nevada commission went through that process, and came out with everyone happy — at least for now.

The judges for the fight will be veterans Glenn Feldman, Dave Moretti, and Steve Weisfeld. Moretti was a judge for the first fight, and scored the bout 115-113 for Golovkin, while Don Trella had the bout even at 114-114 and Adalaide Byrd scored the fight a highly criticized 118-110 for Alvarez.

The Byrd score card from last September played a part in choosing the third man in the ring, too. The Golovkin side argued against Tony Weeks, so he wasn’t going to happen. Promoter Tom Loeffler wanted either Nevada veteran Robert Byrd or New Jersey’s Benjy Esteves.

But Robert Byrd is married to Adalaide Byrd, so the decision was made to avoid any controversy there and go with Esteves.

So things are set for September 15. On paper, this all looks fine, but scratch the surface and you’ll find some controversy or other involving every one of these officials, because it’s boxing and no judge or referee has a spotless record.

Brazil’s version of Trump: why is it a «wake-up call» for the world?

A racist, a homophobe, a misogynist, a pro-torturer. Because of the profane outbursts and verbal abuse, he has earned such an image and was even considered as a political clown. Once he insulted lawmaker claiming that she was too ugly to be worth of raping. What is more, he said that he’d rather have a dead son than a gay one. Therefore, analysts concluded that Brazil has elected the most extremist president among democratic countries. So why did Brazil decide to make «really radical shift»? How did such an «extreme» and «unpleasant» figure become a president?

Jylkybay Jagyparuly,

Mechanical engineering is a potential pillar of the economy

In industrialized countries, one of the most important indicators of the economy is the level of development of the machine-building industry. Independent Kazakhstan, striving to achieve ambitious goals, is making great efforts to develop machine building in the process of diversifying its economy.
