N. Nazarbayev congratulates participants of the XXV congress of the Federation of Trade Unions

The State Secretary of Kazakhstan G.Abdykalikova participated to the extraordinary XXV congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, reports Akorda's press service.

The chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions B. Abdraim, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population M. Abylkasymova, representatives of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken, international organizations, also more than 200 delegates of trade unions from all regions of Kazakhstan also participated.

At the opening of the event Gulshara Abdykalikova read N. Nazarbayev’s congratulations to the participants of the congress. It noted that: “Today the Federation of Trade Unions is the largest public organization of the country, bringing together about 2 million people. The main mediators between employers and workers are more than 18,000 primary trade union organizations that contribute to resolving labor disputes, protecting the rights of workers, improving working conditions and safety. The tripartite model of social partnership, in which more than 115 thousand memorandums on the preservation of jobs, were signed, has also proved its effectiveness. With the participation of trade unions 24 conventions of the International Labor Organization have been ratified. All these measures are aimed at improving the working conditions of workers and improving their quality of life.

The Federation of Trade Unions, assuming responsibility for the modernization of the labor sphere, together with employers, should be the driving force of social adaptation of Kazakhstan to the new conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The President expressed confidence that the forms and methods of activity will be revised, a new strategy for the further development of the trade union movement in Kazakhstan will be developed taking into account the global transformation of the labor market.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan consists of 21 branch trade unions and 17 territorial associations.
