The head of state inspected the training rooms and got acquainted with the material and technical base, and also talked with the students of the new school-lyceum No. 85, built with the support of the Development Fund of the State of Qatar.
Speaking to reporters, Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated all students, teachers and parents on the Day of Knowledge, and emphasized the symbolism of holding a solemn event within the walls of the new educational institution that opened in the capital.
- Today 181 schools are being built throughout the country. 23 schools have already been built and take their first students. In Kazakhstan, more than 7,000 schools have opened their doors for 3 million students, over 350,000 of them have crossed the school threshold for the first time," said the President of Kazakhstan.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that in the high-tech world of the XXI century knowledge is the key to innovation and the main resource for the development of Kazakhstan and pointed out that the state gives the education sector the most serious attention.
Noting the need to move to the updated content of secondary education aimed at the development of functional literacy, the President of Kazakhstan focused on the fact that in modern conditions, students should be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained in practice. This determines the high level of qualification and professionalism of the teacher.
- The state carries out systemic measures for the training of pedagogical personnel, improvement of wages in the sphere of education. Since this school year, the salaries of teachers who have successfully passed certification on the new system will increase by 30-50 percent, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The head of state stressed that the modern technological era and the third modernization of Kazakhstan define new tasks for the formation of quality knowledge, the development of analytical and creative abilities, and noted that students should fully master information technologies and foreign languages.
In the educational institution, designed for 1200 student places, there are 48 classrooms. Education in school-lyceum No. 85 of the natural-mathematical direction will be conducted in Kazakh and Russian languages, using innovative technologies that meet the requirements of the state standard of education.
