Representatives from 10 regions of Russia came to the tourism exhibition in Petropavlovsk

The XV Forum of interregional cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia started in Petropavlovsk. As part of the interregional forum, was held the exhibition “New approaches and trends in the development of tourism in Kazakhstan and Russia”.

The regions of the two countries presented their tourism potential. About 2 thousand delegates from all regions of our country and 10 regions of the Russian Federation arrived in the northernmost city of Kazakhstan. In total, more than 40 exhibitors are represented.

The opening ceremony of the Forum was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, akim of the North Kazakhstan region Kumar Aksakalov and the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Oleg Safonov. Speaking to the participants of the exhibition, Kumar Aksakalov noted the importance of holding such a forum - a platform. According to regional akim Kumar Aksakalov, Kazakhstan and Russia have something to show and tell in the field of tourism.

“We and our neighbors have destinations that may surprise. For our part, we would like to talk about the Shalkar-Imantau resort area. We are now working to bring more tourists to us, including from the Russian Federation. We must do everything so that people travel, learn about each other, get acquainted with the culture, customs and traditions of the two peoples. Moreover, we are united by a common history, ”said akim of North Kazakhstan region, Kumar Aksakalov.

How to attract more tourists? What should be done to develop the tourism potential of the two countries? Participants of the forum will be looking for answers to these and other questions within two days.

Oleg Safonov, head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, spoke about the positive development of bilateral relations in the field of tourism. He stressed that this meeting will positively affect the development of the tourism potential of the two countries.

“Every year about 3.5 million Kazakhstanis come to the Russian Federation, more than 3 million Russians travel around Kazakhstan. And we believe that these figures should constantly grow, we have great opportunities for this. Today we provide and reveal the potential for the development of tourism in our countries, ”said Oleg Safonov, Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, in his speech.
