The International Day against Nuclear Tests has been celebrated informally by the UN since 2010, following the General Assembly resolution 64/35 adopted in December 2009 at the initiative of Kazakhstan. Following the adoption of resolution 72/51 the observance of this day is now a formal platform of the UN.

The deliberations will be broadcast live on the UN website: http://webtv.un.org/ with translation in all official UN languages.
