Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi following the fire on a passenger train.
"On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and me personally, I express my deep condolences to you, to the relatives and friends of the victims, and share the pain of irreparable loss. I wish all the victims of this terrible incident a speedy recovery," the telegram reads.
