Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Chairman of the Board of "Kazakhtelecom" JSC Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, Akorda reports.
The Head of state heard a report on the main results of the work of Kazakhtelecom JSC in 2019, as well as on the implementation of the "Smart City" concept and the "Smart Aqkol" project.
Kuanyshbek Eskeev also informed the President about Kazakhtelecom's purchase of shares in Kcell and Tele2 companies, measures to integrate their work and implement the mobile service project.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave several specific instructions. In particular, the President stated the need to provide the country with mobile communications, especially rural schools and medical centres with access to the Internet. He also instructed not to allow the cost of communication services to increase.
