Nazarbayev meets with Jordan’s King Abdullah II

Today The Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the King of Jordan Abdullah II.

Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the growth of interaction in various sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and defense.

“You arrived on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. Over the years, we have built a very trustful and friendly cooperation. We support each other within the framework of international organizations. Jordan supports Kazakhstan's initiatives in the global arena,” said President Nazarbayev.

The Kazakh President underscored the role of Jordan and King Abdullah II personally in the process of establishing peace and security in the Middle East.

“You are the ambassador for peace, and you are continuing your father Hussein’s way. Kazakhstan is also trying to play this role in its region. We are one of the leaders of the anti-nuclear movement,” said Mr. Nazarbayev.

President of Kazakhstan appreciated the peacekeeping activity of the Jordan King and awarded him the international prize "For a world without nuclear weapons and global security".

"It is a recognition of your merits and a hope that in the conditions of conflicts you will continue to play a peacekeeping role that keeps people together. Your country also takes an active part in the Astana process. Jordan has accepted more than one million Syrian refugees. You are providing financial and humanitarian assistance to Syria. I think that the whole world should appreciate this," expressed the Head of State.

In his turn, King Abdullah II thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation and expressed gratitude for the award he received. In addition, he stressed the important role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the peaceful settlement of international conflicts.
