B. Sagintayev discusses implementation of President’s Five Social Initiatives with students of SKR

In the South Kazakhstan region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, having visited the Student's House and familiarized himself with the living conditions in the dormitory, held a meeting with students where the President’s Five Social Initiatives were discussed, reports primeminister.kz.

During the meeting, topical issues of youth and social policy were discussed: training and retraining of personnel for future professions, expansion of grants for technical specialties, training in necessary skills, taking into account changes in the labor market and widespread digitalization and automation, microcredits in entrepreneurship, introduction of trilingual and the dual system into education, as well as the dormitory accessibility.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that the measures taken within the framework of the Address "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" will allow to form a new generation of engineering and technical workers. This, in turn, will reduce unemployment among young people and solve problems related to the "brain drain."

The issue of access to education is of special importance for young people. The President, within the framework of his third social initiative "Increasing the Accessibility and Quality of Higher Education and Improving the Living Conditions of Students," decided to allocate additional 20 thousand grants to annually allocated 54 thousand. Of these, 11 thousand will be for technical specialties, the demand for which will only grow in the conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In the direction of improving the student infrastructure, the Government is working to create 75 thousand places in dormitories. Today, almost 205 thousand students are nonresidents, of whom only 67 thousand are provided with places in dormitories.

The key initiatives on labor market development in 2018 were reported by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, M. Abylkassymova. Vice Minister of Education and Science, T. Yeshenkulov, made a presentation on the implementation of the President's third initiative " Increasing the Accessibility and Quality of Higher Education and Improving the Living Conditions of Students."

During the discussion, the chairman of the board of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, A. Myrzakhmetov, rector of the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, O. Ayashev, as well as a student of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, G. Daribayeva, a student of South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, O. Abdykhalyk, a student of the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Academy, B. Tokhtarov, a student of the agro-industrial faculty of the SKSU, Y. Seid.
