Kazakhstan and Thailand discuss cooperation in tourism and sports

Kazakh Ambassador to Thailand Raushan Yesbulatova and the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand Weerasak Kowsurat met to discuss the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Kazakh diplomat drew the Minister's attention to the presence of direct flights from Bangkok to Astana and Kazakhstan's cultural center – the city of Almaty, which provides the tourists from Thailand with a unique opportunity to plunge into the diversity of Kazakhstan's nature, from spacious steppes to magnificent mountains.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of establishing a visa-free regime for citizens of both countries. In this regard, it was requested to assist in speeding up the consideration process of the draft Agreement, which will contribute to increasing the tourist flow between countries.

Active cooperation in the field of sports was also emphasized. It was noted that Kazakh and Thai athletes regularly take part in competitions and trainings, such as the Asian Youth Boxing Championship, which recently took place in Bangkok.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand was briefed on the main provisions of President Nursultan Nazarbayev'sState-of-the-Nation Address titled “New Development Opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, the Five Social Initiatives of the President, the “RuhaniZhangyru” Program, the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan, as well as the celebration of Astana 20thAnniversary and this year's Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
