Twenty-four projects under implementation in industrial zone in Almaty — MID

August 23, 2018, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry for Investments and Development Yerlan Khairov visited a number of industrial projects in an industrial zone in the Alatau district of Almaty.

Among the sites visited is an enterprise for redeployment and expansion of production of security systems for Tokyo Rope Almaty LLP. The project was implemented with the participation of the Japanese multinational Corporation Tokyo Rope.

Chairman of the Committee also inspected a greenhouse production complex of BRB APK LLP, paper bags manufacturing plant Almapack Co LTD LLP, a workshop for the office cartridges production LLP DOC Co Ltd., large-diameter welded pipe production plant of Asia LLP Steel Pipe Corporation and got acquainted with the construction progress of cable and wire production plant of LLP KMK Investment.

It should be noted that the construction of an industrial zone in the north-western part of the Alatau region on the border with the Ili and Karasai districts of Almaty has been underway since 2012. The total area is 490 hectares. Today there are four active projects on the territory of the zone, at the stage of implementation of there are 24 projects, of which 9 will be launched before the end of 2018. Already today, 5 tenge of private investments are attracted for 1 tenge from the republican budget.

At present, there are 22 industrial zones in Kazakhstan, including one private. In total, there are 106 projects for 51.5 billion tenge, 5,003 jobs have been created.

At the construction stage there are 94 projects for about 192.7 billion tenge, with the creation of 4,000 jobs. At the same time, seven industrial zones are being built, 39.6 billion tenge are currently allocated for the construction of their infrastructure. Of these, two zones are planned to be put into operation before the end of 2018. In particular, seven projects for 20 billion tenge have already been implemented in the territories of the two constructed zones, 319 jobs have been created. In addition, another nine zones are at the design stage.
