Ambassador of Kazakhstan meets with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Daniyar Sarekenov has met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia Dato' Mohamad Ariff Bin Md Yusof, reports the press service of MFA.

The Ambassador informed the Speaker with the priorities and goals of the internal and foreign policy of Kazakhstan, the current status and prospects of the bilateral cooperation. Ambassador noted that in 2018 the trade between the countries increased almost 4 times compared with the previous year and amounted to about USD 500 million.

During the meeting Kazakh diplomat has transmitted to the Speaker the invitation letter to the 4th Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments which will be held on September 23-24, 2019 in Astana.

Dato' Mohamad Ariff Bin Md Yusof has expressed his interest to participate at the above-mentioned event and noted the importance of developing the collaboration between the legislative bodies of the two countries. The Speaker also has informed about the intention to initiate the establishing of the parliamentary friendship group with Kazakhstan from the members of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia.

In conclusion of the meeting the parties expressed the commitment to develop a comprehensive mutually beneficial partnership.
