Nursultan Nazarbayev receives Accounts Committee Chairperson

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting with Nataliya Godunova, Chairperson of the Accounts Committee for Control over Execution of the Republican Budget, reports the Akorda's press service.

During the meeting, the Head of State was presented a report on the activities of the Accounts Committee on the results of 2018.

The President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of ongoing monitoring and conducting a thorough analysis of the effectiveness of budget funds utilization by the Accounts Committee.

- The main task of the Accounts Committee is to monitor the efficient use of state budget funds. You are facing new challenges in connection with the transition from control to auditing, ”said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In turn, the Chairperson of the Accounts Committee reported on the progress of the audit of the effectiveness of the execution of the republican budget and the results of studying international experience in this field.

- We continue to work on the transition to performance audit. Last year, all violations were revealed in the amount of 430 billion tenge. The amount of real financial irregularities identified without accounting amounted to 16 billion tenge, whereas in 2017 it was 70 billion tenge. This indicates an improvement in financial discipline, ”said N. Godunova.

In addition, the Chairperson of the Accounts Committee provided information on the results of an assessment of the effectiveness of the state and sectoral programs budget, and also reported on measures taken jointly with the Government to improve the quality of economic and financial planning.

In conclusion, the Head of State instructed the Accounts Committee to ensure proper control over the implementation of social programs and initiatives announced at the XVIII Congress of the Nur Otan Party.
