It is reported by the press service of the club.

Stage 3 from Flamatt to Murten due to its practically all flat profile became a good possibility for sprinters to play the victory. Thus, on the streets of medieval Murten everything has been decided in a bunch sprint won by the Slovak champion Peter Sagan, who outsprinted Elia Viviani and John Degenkolb.

All Astana Pro Team riders finished safety in the main group.

- It was not a day where we could do something, so the main goal for today was to safe as much energy as possible and to stay out of troubles. The final of the stage was a bit tricky and stressful, but we managed to pass this day without problem. There are some stages in this race which will suit us better, - said Lars Michaelsen, sports director of Astana Pro Team.

Peter Sagan became the new overall leader, while Astana’s Luis Leon Sanchez moves up to 10th position.

Stage 4 with much hilly profile will be held tomorrow between Murten and Arlesheim, 163.9 km.
