The Head of State has taken part in the celebrations held on the occasion of the National Day of Dombra on the main square of the capital city of Nur-Sultan. In his speech to the residents and guests of the city, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated all Kazakhstanis on the holiday, which is a tribute to our spiritual wealth.

- They say that a Kazakh and dombra are inseparable. The sonorous sound of dombra embraved our batyrs, inspired akyns (ed. Kazakh bars). Dombra will always be the invaluable wealth of our people, the President of Kazakhstan said.

The Head of State expressed confidence that the celebration dedicated to the national instrument is a great opportunity to increase the interest of the young generation in traditional art.

- Pieces of music like Saryarka, Balbyrauyn, Aday, Alkissa are majestic works that raise the national spirit. Using sounds of dombra they return listeners to the depths of the history of our nation. We should keep this sacred noble heritage handed down from generation to generation, said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The President of Kazakhstan stressed that today dombra is a unique cultural heritage uniting all the people of Kazakhstan, and one cannot imagine a spiritual rebirth without it.

- Art is called the reflection of the nation’s soul. It is very important that we widely propagandize our common value - dombra, convey its significance to the younger generation. This musical instrument embodies the unique wealth of the universe. Therefore, I consider it a correct and timely initiative to introduce lessons on teaching dombra in schools. In the era of universal globalization, it is necessary to preserve and maintain the true values of our nation, said the Head of State.

As part of the concert at Kazakh Eli monument, more than a thousand musicians, united in a single orchestra, playing dombra, performed famous Kazakh pieces of music.
