Tokayev presentes state awards to the participants of emergency response in Arys

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has presented state awards to the citizens who distinguished themselves at the time of the tragic events and in the aftermath of the explosions at Arys. 40 people were honoured with the state awards during the ceremony held at the Akorda residence, press service of the President reports.

In his speech, the President expressed gratitude to all participants in the rescue of residents and restoration of Arys.

The Head of state noted that June 24 will go down in the history of Kazakhstan as the day when our people had a serious test, which we stood with honor. Despite all the upheavals, the inhabitants of the city and all the people of Kazakhstan has maintained the strength of spirit.

- The tragedy did not leave anyone indifferent. We restored Arys as whole country. Every citizen of Kazakhstan made contribution. In such vivid examples of patriotism and unselfish mutual assistance that we must educate our youth, the Head of state stressed.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that currently the restoration work has been completed by 97 %, first of all, the houses of large families have been rebuilt. On September 1, 16 schools opened their doors in which 12 thousand students study and 2.5 thousand of them went to the first grade.

Concluding his speech, the President of Kazakhstan stressed that the events in Arys demonstrated the unity and cohesion of our people.

Indeed, those here are real heroes, and those who remained outside this hall will also be awarded with orders and medals, - the Head of state concluded.
