Nazarbayev meets with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

Nursultan Nazarbayev met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, elbasy.kz reports. 

During the meeting, Elbasy pointed out positive dynamics of the development of Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations.

"This is the first time I have come in a different status. Kazakhstan continues to work on the implementation of economic development programs and strengthening of independence. Our relations continue to develop. Now we have many opportunities to expand cooperation. It is necessary to increase the volume of trade. We have built the appropriate logistics. Tomorrow there will be a meeting of the Council of Cooperation of the Turkic Speaking Countries. I gladly accepted the status of Honorary Chairman, as I want to continue to contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between our States, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

In his turn, Ilham Aliyev thanked Elbasy for his participation in the Council of Cooperation of the Turkic Speaking Countries meeting and highlighted his contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations.

- It is a great honor for us to host the First President of Kazakhstan on Azerbaijani soil. You are a great friend of Azerbaijan. You have always supported our country on many international issues. Your contribution to strengthening solidarity between Turkic-speaking countries is also great. We are glad that the anniversary summit is being held in Baku," The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said.

In addition, Aliyev said that the construction of the capital of Kazakhstan has become an example for the development of the city of Baku.

- I saw the rapid transformation of Your capital. Visiting the EXPO, I was delighted with the scale of construction and the level of architectural skill. All the successes of Kazakhstan are connected with Your name," the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said
