How is selection for Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve taking place — participants' opinions

The opportunity to occupy the highest managerial public positions in the country, the highest managerial positions in national holdings and national companies attracted the interest of thousands of young Kazakhstanis in the country and abroad. All of them took part in the selection for the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve, primeminister.kz reports.

The reserve will include 300 of the most talented and trained of them.

Currently, according to the results of verification testing, 549 participants are undergoing the next stage of selection — assessment of potential, which consists of three stages: presentation of the project, essay writing and assessment of competencies.

At this stage, each essay and project of the candidates is evaluated simultaneously by three experts online.

Certified evaluators and professional supervisors were involved in assessing the competencies of candidates. They identify candidates' competencies through behavioral indicators using individual and group assessment tools.

Candidates selected for the stage, assessment of potential, shared their impressions of the selection.

For example, businessman Bekzhan was surprised to learn that 13 thousand people registered on the Pkrezerv.kz portal.

“I expected that the number of interested people would be no more than one and a half or two thousand people. We can say that this project has won the interest of many young people. I think that to be part of the five hundred people who have passed to the next stage is an achievement for us. The selection process for the reserve is very well organized, there were no obstacles. At the beginning, there were conversations that the questions are complex. However, I believe that applicants should be able to answer such questions. To be honest, we are very surprised. In other words, we thought that everything would be trivial. When I saw the assignments today, I felt like I was getting a job in a large foreign company. It was strong,” said Bekzhan.

Azamat, an IT specialist, says he will not be upset if he does not pass the selection to the end.

“I participated in such a project and I’m glad that I was among the 550 (according to the results of verification of testing, 549 participants successfully passed the next stage of the selection — assessment of potential). Only the best are at this stage,” he said.

A heat power engineer Alexey spoke about the good organization of selection for the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.

“This is a super transparent system. I understood what and when was going on, what is required of me. The system was not developed in one day, but done thoughtfully. Everything is consistent, there is a clear, transparent system of selection. You see your place, you see what prospects this can promise you. I think this is for young minds, such a chance to excel and prove themselves," said Alexey.

Government employee Ainara notes the convenience of remote testing for 24 hours. According to her, the organizers provided complete information on the selection in the media and social networks.

Daniel, who works in tourism sector, also noted the high level of organization of selection.

“I really liked the organization of selection provess, because with each step I received a new challenge, for example, to make a presentation and keep within 5 minutes in 5 slides, submit an essay for a certain period of time. Today’s assessment, every time he spurs. I would like to point out the organization, that all the information is available,” said Daniel.

Civil servant Elina said that she was encouraged to take part in the selection to the personnel reserve.

“As soon as the promotion of the selection to the personnel reserve started, I immediately wanted to participate. But for some reason I was skeptical. I thought, ‘take off your pink glasses, why do you need it, and anyway, probably everything has already been decided there.’ I said it’s worth a try. Firstly, it was the president’s announcement. Secondly, this is a new format, it’s worth a try. I always love something new, interesting. And thirdly, this is a real chance. In general, the project itself is unique. I think it will be noted by all participants ... There are stages both online and offline. This is an integrated approach to each candidate. This is a very cool, well-coordinated team of organizers and you can feel it. Everything is well done. When contacting technical support, they immediately respond. They try not only to solve your problem, but also to support you,” said Elina.

Another participant, an employee of the trade union organization, Gulzira, spoke about the technical part of the selection for personnel reserve.

“First of all, I was surprised by the technical equipment of the site. All moments and needs were provided. I did not encounter any technical difficulties. The assessment is such a fairly modern procedure for evaluating competencies, which allows you to determine the skills of the candidate from all sides. Today's assessment is very well organized in terms of time management. We know our schedule, we know completely the logistics: where should we go. We know which stream we belong to. There is distribution by color, audience, by number of people. I am very proud, probably, that our state agency can organize such a large-scale project in a short time. To date, I have already achieved great results, I am already included in these 549 people (according to the results of verification testing, 549 participants successfully completed the next stage of selection — assessment of potential). I am determined to reach the goal and am ready to show my full potential. Every day I am encouraged by different news. When such a great importance is attached to this, it’s more motivating for me to achieve my goals,” said Gulzira.
