Nazarbayev meets with residents of Turkestan region

During the visit to Turkestan, Elbasy attended a concert on the square of the spiritual and cultural center of the city and welcomed the residents of the region, elbasy.kz reports.

In his welcoming speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the historical importance of the decision he made to move the regional center to Turkestan.

- Since independence, I have thought of Turkestan as the capital. But, as you know, the situation did not allow this to be done. And now this city has become a regional center, where work is carried out on its revival. Turkestan is the cradle of the Turkic world. And I am sure that the brotherly Turkic States will also provide assistance to us, the President said.

The first President of Kazakhstan noted the high rate of Grand building that has been deployed throughout the city.

- At the first stage it is planned to build 175 objects,102 will be launched this year. All regions of the country take part in this process, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Elbasy expressed gratitude to all participants in the process of construction and reconstruction of the regional center.

- Upon completion of construction of all planned facilities, we expect an increase in the volume of tourists. In addition, more jobs will be created. All this will have a positive impact on the living standards of our citizens, - concluded the First President of Kazakhstan.

At the end of the concert, Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the exhibition of artisans, where the works of masters of 20 countries of the world were presented.
