Tokayev learns about innovation ecosystem of the capital

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited programming school "Alem", the international technopark of IT startups "Astana Hub" and the University of information technologies "Astana IT University". All facilities are located on the territory of "Astana EXPO-2017". It is reported by press service of Akorda.

At the school "Alem" the President of Kazakhstan learnt about training program. During the conversation with the students, he noted the demand and relevance of the IT sphere in the world.

- The task of Kazakhstan is to keep up with global trends. The most important thing is to move in line, because otherwise we will be thrown on the sidelines of world development. We need to teach young people all these skills, to involve them in this sphere. We have very capable young people who seek to gain knowledge,- the Head of state noted.

Students told Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about how to learn to program without teachers, lectures, assessments and other elements of traditional education.

Then the President was informed about activities and infrastructure of "Astana Hub". He was presented several startups - eSports platform for matchmaking, automated trading platform "INUI Software", mobile pedestals "Tastamat", the system of recording the arrival and departure of employees using biometrics "Clockster" and other projects that are implemented on the basis of the Technopark.

During his vivsit to "Astana IT University " the Head of state was informed about the main directions of the University, showed classrooms, laboratories.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged students to get a good education in order to work successfully for the benefit of the country.

- The University was established on the initiative of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. I have no doubt that it will be prestigious and, most importantly, will train qualified specialists. The better you learn, the more chances you will have in this difficult and unpredictable life,- the President said.
