The Kurmangazy orchestra performs in Beijing

The Kurmangazy kazakh national academic orchestra of folk instruments successfully performed on one of the stages of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China. 

The concert "Melodies of the great steppe" was held in the framework of the project "World music series". The concert program included works by Kazakh and foreign composers: Kurmangazy, Turkesh, N. Tlendiyev, Dauletkerei, Abay, Mozart, Brahms and others.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Gabit Koishybayev said: "We pay great attention to the development of bilateral cultural ties. We are glad that the creative team of the Kurmangazy orchestra took part in this important international musical event. The Chinese audience was able to learn about rich culture of Kazakhstan, which was subtly and beautifully presented by our artists."

The World music series project was initiated by the National Centre for the Performing Arts in 2010. It included 120 performances with the participation of creative teams from more than 50 countries. The concert of the Kurmangazy orchestra in Beijing was supported by the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China.
