Senators meet with Tatarstan President

Deputy speaker of the Senate Askar Shakirov and a number of senators met with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Kazan Kremlin, press service of the Senate reports. 

The meeting was also attended by co-Chairman of the Commission on cooperation between the Federation Council of the RF Federal Assembly Ilyas Umakhanov, Chairman of the state Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, senators Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed, Olga Perepechina, Talgat Musabayev, Vladimir Volkov.

President of Tatarstan noted that it is very important to develop cooperation between our countries at the inter-parliamentary level.

In turn, A. Shakirov stressed that Kazakhstan is interested in developing dynamic cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan, which is one of the leading and economically developed regions of the Russian Federation.

"Our people share common historical and cultural roots. Today, relations between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan demonstrate high dynamics of development in all areas," the Vice-speaker said.

The issues of opening the suspended direct flights Nur-Sultan-Kazan, further development of bilateral trade, expansion of cooperation in the field of science and education were discussed during the meeting.
