In Kazakhstan, no cases of a new type of coronavirus from China have yet been registered, doctors assure. But a mysterious virus forced all responsible services to switch to an enhanced mode of operation. In the area of high attention are passengers from China.

All passengers from China are scanned by a special device.

The reason is increased sanitary and epidemiological control due to an outbreak of an unknown type of virus in China. In order to prevent infection from entering the territory of Kazakhstan, preventive work is being carried out at the airports of the capital and Almaty, as well as at railway stations where trains run from Urumqi.

According to experts, the symptoms of the mysterious virus are similar to SARS: high fever, fever, shortness of breath and dry cough. In 2002, something similar was already observed in China. In Guangdong province, a coronavirus was found that caused severe acute respiratory syndrome. Then it affected tens of thousands of people.

The situation in Kazakhstan is stable, doctors assure. So far, no cases of this virus have been registered in the country. However, there is a seasonal rise in influenza and SARS. From 20 to 40 people apply for inpatient care at the Nur-Sultan infectious diseases hospital on a daily basis. Several residents of the capital were diagnosed with measles. None of them were vaccinated.
