More than 30 flights are delayed at Nur-Sultan airport due to bad weather

Due to bad weather conditions, namely a severe snowstorm, as well as the inability to treat aircraft with anti-icing liquid for safety reasons, a number of flights to/from the Nursultan Nazarbayev international airport are delayed. This is reported by press service of the Civil aviation Committee of Kazakhstan.

According to the Agency, at the moment 16 flights are delayed for departure.

These are 10 flights of Air Astana (Shymkent - 2 flights, Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Almaty - 2 flights, Aktobe - 2 flights, Dubai, Novosibirsk) and two flights of SCAT airlines (Almaty, Aktau), as well as a flight of Turkish airlines in the direction Nur-Sultan – Istanbul, FlyDubai airlines in the direction Nur-Sultan – Dubai, Lufthansa airlines in the direction Nur-Sultan – Frankfurt, Aeroflot airlines in the direction Nur-Sultan – Moscow.

18 flights are delayed on arrival. These are 11 flights of Air Astana (Almaty-3 flights, Kyzylorda, Shymkent-2 flights, Uralsk, Aktobe-2 flights, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Novosibirsk), 4 flights of SCAT airlines (Almaty, Aktau, Atyrau, Moscow), 2 flights of Qazaq Air (Zhezkazgan, Ust-Kamenogorsk) and a FlyArystan flight on the Nur-Sultan – Moscow route.

As noted in the Committee of Civil aviation, in accordance with article 86 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan from July 15, 2010 "About use of airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and activities of aircraft", cancellation or delay attributable to the carrier or delay, flight cancellation due to late arrival of aircraft, change of the route of carriage, the carrier is obliged to organise for passengers in points of departure and in intermediate points following services: 1) provision (if any) room mother and child passenger with a child under the age of seven; 2) two telephone calls, including international communication lines, no longer than five minutes or two e-mails while waiting for departure more than two hours; 3) refreshing drinks while waiting for the departure more than two hours; 4) provision of hot meals at expectation of departure of flight more than four hours and more: every six hours during the daytime; every eight hours during the night; 5) accommodation in a hotel provided by the carrier, when waiting for the flight departure for more than eight hours-during the day and more than six hours-at night; 6) delivery by transport provided by the carrier from the airport to the hotel and back in cases where the hotel is provided without charging additional fees.

Cancellation or delay of flight by the carrier for more than ten hours, the carrier is obliged by choice of the passenger: 1) to provide transportation of the passenger on the next flight to the destination indicated on the ticket, with the provision of services in accordance with paragraph 1 of this article; 2) to refund the passenger the full ticket price. If you do not provide the above services, passengers are recommended to contact the authorized body to bring airlines to administrative responsibility in accordance with article 567 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2014 "On administrative offenses".
