Kazakhstan provides more than 19 billion tenge for the disabled

In 2020, 19.1 billion tenge is provided for rehabilitation services to people with disabilities. It is planned that 300 thousand people will have access to state rehabilitation services by the end of this year, press service of the Ministry of Labor and social protection reports.

695 thousand people with disabilities live in the country, including 424 thousand people of working age, 179.7 thousand of them are the retired and 91.6 thousand are children under 18 years.

They are provided with technical compensatory rehabilitation facilities at the expense of local budgets every year.

292.4 thousand people or 69.5% of the total number of the disabled were covered by rehabilitation services (prosthetic and orthopedic care, Surdo -, tiflo-means, wheelchairs, Spa treatment, mandatory hygiene products, services of an individual assistant and a sign language specialist) in 2019. 7.5 billion tenge was allocated for these purposes.

According to the National plan for support of disabled citizens until 2025, 58.3 billion tenge was allocated from the national budget for 2020-2022 (2020 – 19.1 billion tenge, 2021 – 19.4 billion tenge, 2022 – 19.8 billion tenge).

Recall that in 2017 the list of rehabilitation services was updated and expanded from 32 to 55 types. This made it possible to provide disabled people with modern laptops for work and study, smartphones, instead of outdated gadjets.
