Kazakhstan hosts national aitys contest

The capital hosted the national aitys contest "Adamzattyn alybi - Hakim Abay" dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev. A series of competitions in poetic art will be held in various regions of the country.

As the Chairman of the public association of national art Jursin Yerman noted, the state and the ruling party pay special attention to the development of national traditions and cultural values.


A total of 16 akyns took part in aitys. The winner of the Grand Prix was the famous akyn, two-time winner of the "Golden dombyra" Mukhtar Niyazov. The first place went to the poet from Kyzylorda region Meirbek Sultankhan, the second place was shared by Yerkebulan kainazarov and Serik Kuangan. Third place was taken by Tlegen Adilov, Asem Erezhekyzy and Rauan Kaidarov. Rauan is a journalist at "Egemen Qazaqstan" newspaper.


It is planned to hold about 20 aitys contests, regional and district levels this year. In addition, aitys dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasir al-Farabi and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great patriotic war will be organized.
