Mongolia suspends flights to Kazakhstan

Mongolia announced the suspension of all passenger flights to Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey due to coronavirus outbreak.

The State Commission for emergencies of the country suspended regular flights to Nur-Sultan, Moscow and Istanbul and back from March 11 to 28.

It was also decided to temporarily ban the entry of Mongolian citizens to Russia through the Mongolia-Russia road border crossing as well as the entry of foreign citizens from Russia until March 31.

In addition, the Ulaanbaatar-Irkutsk-Ulaanbaatar and Ulaanbaatar-Moscow-Ulaanbaatar railway routes were suspended until March 28.

The first case of coronavirus infection in Mongolia was registered on March 10. The patient is a French citizen. He is under quarantine.
