Uzbekistan records first coronavirus death

Uzbekistan locked down more cities and districts as it recorded the country’s first death and the number of cases climbed to 83.

On March 26, a 72-year-old resident of Namangan was admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital with a coronavirus infection.

It turned out that the woman was in contact with her daughter who returned from a trip to Turkey on March 12 and was previously diagnosed with a coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of health, the patient was treated for many years for diabetes, chronic acute heart failure and other diseases.

She died of an acute myocardial infarction at 4:30 a.m. on March 27 in the morning, despite medical assistance, the report said.
