Kazakhstan confirms 3rd death from coronavirus

A 62-year-old man died Karagandy region. It is the third death from the virus in the country. 369 cases registered overall in Kazakhstan, Healthcare ministry says.

On March 30, a man born in 1958, a resident of Karaganda, was admitted to the city hospital in a serious condition.

Doctors stated the diagnosis at admission-pneumonia with signs of respiratory failure.

During treatment, the patient was placed in an isolated resuscitation box. Despite intensive medical treatment, this morning at 07.10 there was a cardiac arrest.

Immediately after admission, tests were taken to determine the coronavirus, which was confirmed after the man's death. He had not previously visited the hospital.

The medical staff followed all applicable protocols.

The deceased worked as a notary in Temirtau, small city near Karagandy.

The circle of close relatives is isolated, and other persons with whom the deceased may have had contact are being studied.

To date, the diagnosis has been confirmed in 14 patients in Karaganda. Doctors assess the condition of 13 patients as stable. 598 people are under round-the-clock surveillance and 1076 are under home quarantine.
