Kazakhstan develops diagnostic test system for COVID-19, President praises the work

Kazakh President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev sent a welcome letter to the teams of the M. Aikimbayev National scientific centre for particularly dangerous infections and the National centre for biotechnology, Akorda says.

"I congratulate the team of two leading Kazakh scientific institutes on their great achievement, the development of diagnostic test systems for detecting COVID-19 coronavirus. Thanks to the work of scientists and specialists of the National research centre for particularly dangerous infections and the National centre for biotechnology, it was possible to develop tests that meet all established international standards in a short time. Your achievements demonstrate the high competitiveness of the domestic biomedical industry and the prospects for its development in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in the world. I am sure that the developed tests will help to save the lives and health of thousands of Kazakh citizens," the greeting of the Head of state reads.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the scientists for their successful work, wished them well-being and new achievements.
