Former Healthcare vice minister tests positive for COVID-19

Nadyrov was dismissed from his post as vice minister in connection with the transition to another job. He was appointed Head of the public health Department of Almaty, however he was diagnosed with COVID-19 amid his transfer.

Yesterday, by a Government decree, Kamalzhan Nadyrov was dismissed from his post as vice minister of health in connection with the transition to another job. In view of the current difficult situation of spreading coronavirus infection in Almaty, the current head of the public health department Abildaev Tleukhan has submitted a letter of resignation," Yelzhan Birtanov posted on Facebook.

He noted that Kamalzhan Nadyrov was transferred to Almaty to strengthen Almaty team which is the worst affected city in Kazakhstan.

"While his appointment was ongoing, late last night he was diagnosed with coronavirus infection and was hospitalized. I express words of support and wish a speedy recovery to my colleague! Noting the situation, in agreement with the mayor of Almaty the resignation of T.Abildayev is suspended," the Healthcare Minister said.
