Kazakh Foreign Ministry on biological security issues

Due to the increasing cases of dissemination of false information in foreign and domestic media regarding the activities of biological laboratories in Kazakhstan, it is necessary to bring the following to the public attention, MFA says. 

The Republic of Kazakhstan is an active advocate of the global process of disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, a responsible party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (CWC), the Convention on the Prohibition of Bacteriological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC), The 1925 Geneva Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use in War of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or Other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare and other fundamental international instruments.
