GDP in Kazakhstan decreased by 1.7%

The Ministry of national economy of Kazakhstan told about the results of socio-economic development of the country in January-May.

"According to operational data, GDP decreased by 1.7%. Production of goods increased by 4.8%. At the same time, the production of services decreased by 6.2%. Annual inflation was 6.7%. This is below the level of last month, " Minister of national economy of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov said at a Government meeting.

At the same time, as the minister noted, the growth in the manufacturing sector continues. The service sector has seen a dynamic recovery since May.

"In the manufacturing sector, there is an increase in construction by 5.9%, mining by 5.2%, manufacturing by 4.9% and agriculture by 2.2%. At the same time, the service sector is still experiencing a decline in volumes: transport by 14.1%, trade by 12.3%, real estate transactions by 4.8%, administrative services by 3.8%. At the same time, communication services increased by 9.2% in January-May," R. Dalenov said.
