President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan to ensure the safety of Kazakh citizens in Lebanon in connection with the explosion in Beirut. This was announced by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

"Several powerful explosions occurred in the port of Beirut in Lebanon. The city's infrastructure has been damaged and there have been human casualties. Upon receiving information about the explosion, our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Ministry of foreign Affairs to ensure the safety of Kazakhstani citizens in Lebanon," the message reads.

"Currently, 113 citizens of Kazakhstan are registered as consulates in Lebanon. Our diplomats are in touch with them, and there are no casualties among them. As you know, the office of the diplomatic mission has been damaged and will be restored. Our employees and their family members were not injured. There is also a UN peacekeeping contingent in Lebanon, which includes 120 Kazakh soldiers. We are currently in the process of rotating them, and just the day before yesterday our Kazakh peacekeepers arrived at the site. They reached the location in health and safety," added Mukhtar Tleuberdi.
