Satellite images help determine the extent of flooding in Turkestan region

5 time viewed

The system of remote sensing of the Earth and digitization of land plots allow us to quickly determine the extent of flooding in the Maktaaral district, Turkestan region.

Space monitoring data obtained from Kazakhstan's KazStSat and KazEOSat-1 satellites, as well as from the satellite of Kazakhstan's strategic partner, Airbus D&S, formed the basis for analyzing the flood situation in the region.

In a short time, the specialists of "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" identified all the houses and structures in settlements, as well as farmland in the zone of flooding. This was made possible by the availability of digitized cadastral data in the information system of the State land cadastre.

The obtained data will allow the mayor's office to proactively identify affected citizens: both owners of real estate in localities and owners of land plots.

Note that all received data the specialists of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" placed on a special geoportal, which is transferred to akimat Turkestan region and to the regional emergency Department for further monitoring of the situation. Information from satellites on it will be updated on an ongoing basis, for the entire period of the emergency.
